Neodymium-doped gadolinium vanadate (Nd:GdVO4)

Neodymium-doped gadolinium vanadate crystal is an excellent laser crystal similar to neodymium-doped yttrium vanadate single crystal (Nd:YVO4 crystal), with excellent physical, optical and mechanical properties, and is one of the ideal laser working materials for laser diode-pumped all-solid state (DPSS) micro-miniature lasers. Compared with Nd:YAG, Nd:GdVO4 has higher slope efficiency, better thermal conductivity and high output power than Yttrium vanadate, so the effect of using Nd:GdVO4 will be better than using Nd:YAG and Nd:YVO4 in high power DPSS.

Neodymium-doped yttrium vanadate (Nd:YVO4) crystal is a kind of laser crystal with excellent performance, which is suitable for the manufacture of laser diode pump, especially the middle and low power laser. Compared with Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4 has higher absorption coefficient and larger stimulated emission cross section. Nd:YVO4 crystal pumped by laser diode is used in combination with LBO,BBO,KTP and other crystals with high nonlinear coefficient, which can achieve better frequency doubled conversion efficiency, and can be made into all-solid-state lasers with output of near infrared, green, blue and ultraviolet.
